Utopia Announcements, Film, For the fans

WARMBODIES_movieposterIt’s confirmed! We will be hosting an official screening of “Warm Bodies,” the film adaptation of the novel by Isaac Marion, who will be there doing LIVE commentary through it all!

The movie, which has an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, stars Nicholas Hoult (who won a Teen Choice Award for his role in the film), Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four), Dave Franco, Rob Courddry and John Malkovich, is set in a near-ish future where a tormented zombie experiences a profound transformation after entering into an unusual relationship with the daughter of a military leader charged with eradicating the walking dead. As the unlikely pair builds a tenuous bridge between the living and the dead, those on both sides of the battle begin to sense that nothing in their world will ever be the same again.

The screening is open to all UTOPiAcon attendees,  but those 11 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult guardian, and those who wish to imbibe the booze must be over 21 years of age and have their ID with them. The movie is rated PG-13, and has some violence and scary themes that might not be suitable for young viewers.

(personal note: ‘With a Girl Like You’ by The Troggs is one of my all time faves. I love that it was used in this trailer.)
