We asked the authors 5 questions we wanted to know, and hope that you find them informative and entertaining. These authors were hand-picked, so you’ll definitely want to read their amazing books if you haven’t yet. Get ready, because this is only the beginning.

Jessica absolutely loves music and often has it blaring in the background when she writes. A few of her favorite bands are Chevelle, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Brand New, Death Cab for Cutie, Flight 409, and Nirvana.
Jessica lives in Wyoming with her husband and three kids.
1. What’s your idea of ‘utopia’?
JS: My idea of utopia is a place to get away, have some fun and enjoyment.
2. Who influenced you to become a fabulous young adult paranormal author?
JS: Most authors who have wrote young adult books have inspired me in one way or another. From the moment I read my first young adult book, I knew this was the genre I wanted to write for.
3. Paper or digital media?
JS: Personally, I like paperback. There’s something about having the book on my shelf that is more enjoyable than having it on my Nook. But digital media is so much easier to obtain. It’s nice to be able to click a button and have a book in my hands?
4. Do you have an “end of book” ritual (that you’re willing to share…)?
JS: Honestly, I don’t have an “end of book” ritual. I have a finished book ritual and that includes a lot of catching up on missed sleep.
5. What do you hope to get out of UtopYA Con 2012?
JS: I hope to get the opportunity to meet great writers and perhaps learn a few new things about writing. And the opportunity to meet fans is always a plus.
