Official Bloggers and Book Tuber for #Utopia2016 Announced

Utopia Announcements, Bloggers

UtopiaCon2016_Blogger_Badge_LFor our epic five-year anniversary, we wanted to bring out the big guns. We’ve invited back all of our official bloggers over the past two years, and we’ve added an official book tuber!!!

The following blog post was written by the amazing Jo Michaels who will be heading up the coordination, scheduling and management of all of the official posts headed your way! Rock star does not even begin to cover how I feel about her awesome.

###

Over the last two years, the bloggers that have graced the official Utopia team have been some of the highest caliber. They’re easy to work with, creative, and are some of the few folks out there that understand the lofty goals of the authors today. Always ready to help spread the word, read a book, or join in a party, these women have rocked Utopia to its core.

This year, in addition to some faces you may recognize, we’re adding some new ones. In keeping with the tides of change, we’re happy to announce that we’ve added a book tuber to the team. Not only will this increase the vivacity of the con, it’ll bring a new level of energy.

There’s a short interview with each of these amazing women following the announcement. Be sure and check it out.

Without further anything, I welcome the following bloggers and book tubers to the team (click on the links and subscribe—information will be coming to you via them, and you don’t want to miss it):

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

I started blogging in June 2013 as a way of interacting with the world after the death of my dad when I didn’t feel like leaving the house. I began reading a lot to escape and cope, and the blog became an extension of that.

Who is your primary audience?

My audience is a mix of readers, bloggers, and authors, skewed a bit toward bloggers and authors.

How many years have you attended Utopia?

2016 will be my third year attending Utopia.

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

I discovered Utopia the first weekend of my blog’s existence, and I knew I had to take part in 2014. I did, and there was no turning back. I love it and everyone involved. I’ll stay as involved as I can for as long as I can.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

The theme this year is awesome, but I can’t wait to see my book friends and family again and to add more people to those two groups.

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Oh, that’s a tough one…just one sentence? Okay, I can do this. Utopia is acceptance and love for your creative soul.

What’s your name?

Ashley Bodette

Where may readers or attendees find your blog/channel?

My blog’s name is Book Junkie: Not-So-Anonymous, and it can be found at: http://ashleythebookjunkie.blogspot.com

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

I started blogging really just to connect more with other readers and authors. I LOVE books! Books (and their authors) have literally changed my life, and if I only ever introduced ONE person to a book, or author, they ended up loving, that would be enough.

Who is your primary audience?

Mostly readers, as most of my posts are reviews. However, my audience of authors has grown, and I am hoping to change the scope of my blog to be more inclusive of both sides of the book world, since I am almost finished writing my first novel.

How many years have you attended Utopia?

I have attended the last two years.

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

I LOVE Utopia, and all the people involved. These people are my people, my family, and I am excited to get to help continue spreading the word about the amazingness that is Utopia.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

Ooh, this is a tough question. I think what I’m most looking forward to in 2016 is being able to share the knowledge during Utopia Con that I will gain this year while attending grad school for publishing. I had my first experience of being on a panel this year, and I can’t express how great it felt to be able to share the little bit of knowledge I have with people who were looking for it.

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia is a ‘place’ where lift as you climb is not just a motto; it’s a way of life.

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

My co-worker suggested it to me. I was reading a ton of books and I wanted to share them with people. I had already been working at the library since 2004 and never even heard of a blog. What rock was I living under? I went crazy looking for new blogs to stalk. I found a few that really inspired me to write my own blog. I didn’t care if people even came to my blog. I just wanted to the world about the books that I loved in hopes that they would love them too.

Who is your primary audience?

Readers and writers

How many years have you attended Utopia?

2 years (2013 & 2014) I would have attending 2012 if I had known about it. I didn’t find out until I saw all of the pictures flooding my newsfeed.

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

I love the feel of Utopia. It’s more than just a convention. Not only do I get to fan girl over my favorite authors but I get to hang out with them, learn, and be inspired by them. It feels like coming home.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

Panels and workshops. I always get caught up in the excitement and miss some really valuable information. I’m excited to be part of the 5 year celebration and hopefully meet with other readers that are interested in becoming a blogger. Mentoring has always been really important to me.

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia DOES exist and it’s the perfect blend of education, inspiration, dedication, and celebration.

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

I started my blog in early 2011 when snomageddon hit and shut down my entire city for nearly two weeks. With a state of emergency in effect, a ban on the roads, and all area schools closed, I finally had time to create a blog I could dedicate to the many hundreds of books I read each year. And as a high school English teacher by day, blogging has basically become my very own fun homework assignment: read a book, blog about it, and share it with my students—something I try to do at least once a week. In the chaotic world we live in, reading has indeed become my very own book vacation.

Who is your primary audience?

I mainly read YA and NA—spanning the paranormal to contemporary spectrum.

How many years have you attended Utopia?

I’ve attended to Utopia twice, and loved it both times!

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

Utopia is an amazing conference for both writers and readers alike. It’s a wonderful place to come together in comradery.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

I am really looking forward to the late-night fun fest, the comradery, the slumber party-type atmosphere, the writing cave, and the panels this year. In the years past that I’ve attended, the interactions between all attendees have been amazing; I’ve met my idols and made some amazing friends along the way, and the panels were amazing!

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia is the best place on earth.

Whats your name?

My name is Christina Marie Mitchell, but I go by Christina Marie.

Where may readers or attendees find your blog/channel?

My blog is LuLoFangirl.com

My YouTube channel is youtube.com/krazytina05

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

I starting both blogging and booktubing in 2012. I did a test run April 2012 and then officially launched in July of 2012.

Who is your primary audience?

My primary audience is readers, although I do get writers and industry professionals from time to time.

How many years have you attended Utopia?

2015 was my very first year attending Utopia!

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

Because I felt something magical happening while I was at the conference. And I knew that I wanted to be a part of helping other people after me feel that same magic. I was so inspired to do more and be more because of Utopia. I just have to be a part of someone else’s journey to their own revelation of “doing epic.”

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

I am looking forward to hearing about all of the success stories from the previous year. And seeing people’s eyes light up for the first time when they discover that they want to write their first book. And I can’t wait to hug and squeeze everyone again!

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia is the place of the realization and the actualization of dreams.

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

I started blogging about ten years ago, and it started off as just something fun to do. Blogging about books and helping to promote my fellow authors and friends has been the most rewarding of any topic.

Who is your primary audience?

I would say it’s probably 75% readers, 25% authors. Authors are busy people, yo! 😉

How many years have you attended Utopia?

Only once – so far – and it was one of the most memorable times of my entire life.

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

Utopia Con assists in making hopes and dreams become a reality. I would be crazy not to help spread the word about such an awesome conference. The community is my family. It takes a village… and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

The conference is constantly growing, like a living entity, and I can’t wait to see how much the conference has evolved since 2014. Not to mention seeing all my peeps!

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia is not merely a conference, but a portal to a magical land overflowing with hope, love, and friendships that last a lifetime.

Why did you start blogging/tubing?

Because someone told me I needed an author blog if I was going to have any visibility with the self-publishing thing. I never dreamed it would grow into the hub it has become.

Who is your primary audience?

Readers and writers (I’d say it’s about an even mix of those).

How many years have you attended Utopia?

Two: 2014 and 2015

Why did you agree to join the Utopia blogger team?

Because it makes my voice louder, and me having a louder voice means I’m in a better position to help others be heard.

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

Expanding my tribe even further, learning, and having the opportunity to share my knowledge.

In one sentence, tell us what Utopia is to you.

Utopia is breath, life, collaboration, and love.
