UtopYA Presents RadLits, the Universe’s Craziest Lit Game

Utopia Announcements, For the fans

RADLITSThough utopYA is certainly a conference for writers looking to improve their craft and career, we have always strived to have panels and games for the fans who attend hoping to rub elbows with their favorite authors.

We’ve had a lot of fun with Story Frenzy the past two years at utopYA, but this year we are trying something new. In an effort to include more authors, as well as more audience participation, we’ve created our mixed up, mashed up version of the classic game MadLibs, where one person prompts players for a list of words to substitute for blanks in a story.

Introducing RadLits, The Universe’s Craziest Lit Game™. We have invited Quinn Loftis, Keary Taylor, Chelsea Fine, Amy Bartol, Tiffany King, Heather Self and more authors (TBA) to submit scenes where YOU, the audience, LIVE at #utopYA2014 will replace the:

  • nouns,
  • verbs,
  • adverbs,
  • crazy sounds,
  • body parts,
  • person in room,
  • adjectives
  • proper names

…etc, with your own crazy words and phrases, creating a whole new mashed up scene from your favorite YA and NA books! Be on the lookout when we post the schedule. You won’t want to miss the fun. We will be adding authors to the list. I have a feeling it’s gonna get nuts.

We will be compiling a whole book of these scenes with blanks in them for you to purchase at utopYA. PLEASE NOTE: utopYA, LLC will not be profiting from these books. The money will go to cover costs, and support utopYA 2015.

We will post the “new” scenes up on the utopYA blog post-utopYA 2014 so that everyone can see the insanity that you came up with.
